UNDER 10/11 Rugby

On Wednesday it was once again the turn of the Under 10 and Under 11’s to participate in our Rugby “Games” afternoon of internal competition. Playing in two separate year group competitions, all the boys displayed some great handling and movement off the ball. At the end of the afternoon the BLUE team were triumphant in the Under 10 competition and the RED team for the Under 11’s.

We are extremely proud of the way the children have responded to the PE COVID changes this term. They have worked hard every lesson to hone their skills and develop their understanding of the game. Although no one is quite sure when we will be able to face competition from other schools, one thing is clear, based on the performances from the past few weeks, the boys are more than ready and will do very well!

Under 10/11 Hockey

Another afternoon of fixture-fun was enjoyed by our Year 5 and 6 girls on Wednesday. Both year groups were split into mixed ability teams and played a number of matches in an attempt to finish the afternoon as winners. There was some really exciting play from both pitches with all the girls embracing their competitive spirit. Playing fixtures is something that we have all missed here at Littlegarth so it is a real pleasure to be able to see the girls playing matches in this way.

Results for the year 5 teams were as follows:

RED (Penny) v YELLOW (Ella) 0 – 1

YELLOW (Maya) v BLUE (Flo & Pippa) 1 – 0

BLUE (Maisie) v RED (Isla & Naomi) 2 – 3

(Names in brackets were the Player of the Match for each game)

With fewer numbers in Year 6, the girls only played one match and that resulted in the RED team winning 5 – 3 against the YELLOW team with Medha being named Player of the Match for the yellow team and Jessica for the red team.

Once again, this was a great afternoon of sport and we look forward to introducing some new Hockey challenges to the girls next week.
