Nursery & Reception Celebrate Chinese New Year

We celebrated Chinese New Year by taking the opportunity to invite Reception to the Nursery where we made a variety of curries for them to sample, including prawn crackers. Many of the children tried using chop sticks to eat noodles with, which was quite tricky.

The children participated in a variety of crafts including decorating red envelopes, (a sign of good luck) with a piece of chocolate money inside! They made red paper lanterns and decorated cup cakes with rice paper toppers depicting pictures of ‘Roosters’ as 2017 in the Chinese calendar is the year of the Rooster.

We all had a lot of fun singing our Chinese Happy New Year song “kung hei fat choy” with Mrs Pashby.
