Match Reports – W/C 18th November

It has been a very successful week for Littlegarth Rugby, with our Under 11 and Under 10 teams performing well both on the local and National stage.   On Wednesday afternoon all of our Year 5 and 6 boys travelled to Framlingham Prep School for an afternoon of Rugby.  Following last week’s impressive performances against Felsted, the boys continued to demonstrate both their skill development and understanding of the game.  All the games were played in the “right” manner and concluded with Littlegarth recording some fantastic results!

Under 11A v Framingham (Win) 40-15

Under 11B v Framingham (Win) 55-0

Under 10A v Framingham (Win) 40-25

Under 10B v Framingham (Win) 30-10

Under 10C v Framingham (Loss) 20-70

ISA National Rugby

The week ended with a trip to Bedford for the annual ISA National Rugby Finals.  Many schools travelled from around the country to compete in the Under 11 and Under 10 competitions.  This is an event the school has traditionally performed well in and is a mark of how the season has gone.  Following an exciting day of Rugby, I am delighted to report that our Under 11A team finished 2nd, narrowly missing out on the top spot in a nail biting final.  Our Under 10 team finished 3rd in their respective competition and missed out on the final by one point.  It is a massive achievement to have both the Under 11 National ISA Rugby “runners up” and the Under 10 National ISA Rugby, 3rd place teams coming from Littlegarth.  All the boys involved played extremely well and demonstrated the strength of our school rugby.  Well done!

Match Reports – 18/11/19

U9 Netball

A cold day required lots of movement from our U9 Netball teams on Monday and they certainly rose to that challenge in their games against Ipswich High School.  The girls are certainly showing their developing skills in their fixtures at the moment and it is a real pleasure to see how well they are performing.

The A team played a terrific game.  They worked exceptionally hard displaying many skills and set plays learnt in their lessons.  By half time, they had scored 9 goals.  We then decided for the remainder of the game to combine the two “A” teams together to allow all the girls to play at a similar level.  The final score for the mixed “A” teams was 1-1.

The B and C team also had great results and finished the afternoon with convincing wins against the opposition.

Littlegarth A v’s Ipswich High School A: 9-0 (win)

Littlegarth B v’s Ipswich High School B: 6-1 (win)

Littlegarth C v’s Ipswich High School B: 6-2 (win)

With just one more Netball fixture for our U9’s, we are keeping our fingers crossed for more success to allow the girls to finish on the high they deserve.

U11 Hockey

It was another cold day at Rushmere for our U11 Hockey teams on Wednesday when they played in a small round robin competition versus Ipswich Prep and Woodbridge Prep.  Nobody let the freezing weather conditions interfere with their enthusiasm though and the girls were excited to play.

With three teams representing Littlegarth but playing at different times we were able to have a number of substitutions which meant the girls could play in a variety of positions throughout the afternoon.

Well done girls, you played fantastically in very challenging conditions and we are extremely proud of you. Good luck for your final fixture next week!

U11A v’s Ipswich Prep: 4-0 (win)

U11A v’s Woodbridge Prep: 0-3 (loss)

U11B v’s Ipswich Prep: 0-1 (loss)

U11C v’s Ipswich Prep: 0-4 (loss)
