Match Reports – W/C 04/02/19 – Boys

Match Reports Week beginning 04/03/19

Under 11 Boys ISA Football

On Friday the Under 11 boys travelled to Southend to compete in the ISA Regional football competition.  This is the first time we have taken three teams to compete at this level and I am pleased to report that all the boys did the school proud.  Both our B and C teams finished 3rd in their respective groups of six which was a great achievement when you consider that they were the only B/C teams to compete.

Our A team was unbeaten in the group stage of the competition and qualified into the Quarter Finals as the top placed team in the competition.  A win against Woodlands HM would book them a semi-final slot and a place in the National final.  The game finished 0-0 with the Littlegarth team having the majority of chances and possession.  This led to penalties and a very tense finish to the match.  Losing 3-2 from the spot, the boys were extremely disappointed but should reflect on their outstanding play up until this point.  The plan is to come back stronger next year when the current Year 5 pupils will combine with the current Year 4’s who won the National ISA football tournament at the start of the academic year.

Under 9 Boys Rugby v St Joseph’s and The Abbey

This was our last set of fixtures before the annual Littlegarth tournament.  As always the boys worked hard and looked on top form leading up to this end of season event.

Under 9 A v The Abbey: WIN 20-0

Under 9 B v The Abbey: WIN 20-0

Under  9 C v St Joseph’s: WIN 35-10

Under 11 Boys Football v Holmwood

The boys always view matches against Holmwood House as a local derby match.  Like the great derby matches the games are always hard fought with every boy working hard until the final whistle.

Under 11 B: WIN 5-1

Under  11 C: WIN  5-0

Under 11 D: WIN 2-0
