Match Reports – W/C 04/02/19 – Girls

It was a wet and windy affair at St Joseph’s for our U9 hockey team on Monday which was a dramatic contrast to the beautiful weather we had the previous week.  Nobody let the weather interfere with their enthusiasm though and the girls were excited to play a range of matches against 3 other schools.

With just one team representing Littlegarth, we had a number of substitutions which meant the girls could play in a variety of positions throughout the afternoon.

Our first game was against The Abbey and the girls defended well but struggled to score and the game resulted in a 0-0 draw.

Throughout the next two games the Littlegarth team gained confidence and dominated play winning both games without conceding a goal.

Well done girls, you played fantastically in very challenging conditions and we are extremely proud of you.

U9 v The Abbey: 0-0 (Draw)

U9 v St Joseph’s: 5-0 (Win)

U9 v Ipswich High: 3-0 (Win)

The wet and windy weather continued for our U11 fixture against Holmwood House on Wednesday.  Our A team had a coaching session to help them prepare for their ISA and IAPS National Final Competitions and so the B, C and D teams all played up a level against the visiting school. All teams fought hard in the challenging conditions and displayed some fantastic netball and great team spirit.

At half time we did not know whether we would get to the end of the fixture but the girls pushed through the elements to secure some really pleasing results.

Well done girls, the weather will improve soon, we promise!

Littlegarth U11B v Holmwood U11A: 9-3 (Win)

Littlegarth U11C v Holmwood U11B: 1-1 (Draw)

Littlegarth U11D vā€™ Holmwood U11C: 3-5 (Loss)
