U9 Netball

What a fantastic afternoon of Netball we had at Littlegarth on Monday afternoon.  The rain made way for sunshine and our U9 girls played fantastically against Holmwood House!

The “A” team had an incredibly tense game with the scores very close throughout the match and the games eventually ended as a draw.  Our “B” team put on a wonderful display of skill and teamwork to take a victory against the opposition, who then stayed on court to play our “C” team in a really exciting game with great sportsmanship.

It is so lovely to see the girls putting their skills into match situations in such a productive way and it is certainly making us very excited about the future.  Well done girls, a great afternoon all round.

Littlegarth A v’s Holmwood House A: 6-6 (draw)

Littlegarth B v’s Holmwood House B: 5-2 (win)

Littlegarth C v’s Holmwood House B: 1-3 (loss)

U11 Hockey

A fantastic afternoon of sport was had by all our U11 girls on Wednesday when we travelled to Felsted for our annual Hockey fixture.  It’s always a little daunting to play such a large school but the girls went into their matches with admirable determination.  The pace of the games came as a bit of a surprise to most, but our girls rose to the challenge and kept up with the speed of play incredibly well.  All teams were rewarded for the way they approached the games and were able to sit and enjoy match teas with 3 victories in the bag.  Well done girls, it really was an exciting afternoon of sport to witness and to be part of and we are incredibly proud of your performances.

Littlegarth A v’s Felsted B: 1-0

Littlegarth B v’s Felsted D:  3-1

Littlegarth C v’s Felsted E:  3-1

ISA Hockey

On Thursday 14th November our U11A Girls’ Hockey team travelled to Lee Valley Hockey & Tennis Centre at the Olympic Park, London for the annual ISA Junior National Hockey Festival.  This was a fantastic opportunity for our girls to play against many other teams from across the country.

Twenty Four Schools took part in the Festival and came from as far as Bournemouth and Lancashire!  The festival took the format of six schools in each of the four pools (A-D).  Each team played a round-robin with the other schools in their pool.  Our girls played Cundall Manor (1-0 to Cundall Manor), Monmouth (1-0 to Monmouth), Finborough (0-0) and Langley Prep (0-0).  This placed us 5th in our pool therefore moving into the “Bowl” competition.

Our girls played Heywood Prep School in the next stage of the tournament but unfortunately could not quite get the strike on goal.  We eventually lost 1-0.  The girls should be exceptionally proud of their efforts and determination throughout the season and this festival.  They have been an absolute pleasure to teach and watch and we are very proud of them as a school.
