ISA National Athletics Championships

A fantastic day was had by 8 Littlegarth children last Wednesday when they travelled to Birmingham to represent East Anglia in the ISA National Athletics Championships.  Despite the forecast, we were treated to a warm, dry day which was perfect for the competitors.  Our very talented pupils ran, threw and jumped with determination and scored valuable points for the region.  Huge congratulations to Georgia (Long Jump), Oliver (600m), Finlay (Shot Putt), Henry (600m), Megan (Long Jump & 150m) and Archie (Long Jump) for performing so well and to Tait (Ball Throw) and Lyla (600m) for coming away with bronze medals! We were even given the opportunity to hold the actual Olympic Torch from the 1948 Games (which was burning bright throughout our own competition!) as well as Steve Backley’s winning javelin!! A fantastic achievement and experience for the whole team … roll on next year!
